Srijit Mukherji's Bengali Dark Comedy 'Hemlock Society' is on its way to being remade in Hindi and who else could be a better choice than Alia Bhatt for the lead role.
Srijit, who will direct the Hindi remake as well, told the leading daily Deccan Chronicle, "Yes, I've spoken to Mahesh Bhatt saab about a Hindi version of Hemlock Society. I feel Alia would be ideal for the role that Koel Mallick did in the original."
The movie, which is a strong insight into psychological dilemma about the primal existence of life, revolves around a girl learning the different techniques of a successful suicide from a man, who trains suicide aspirants. While tackling a serious issue, it incites laughter and explores a dark perspective.
Alia is currently shooting for Gauri Shinde's next film opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
