Amid the ongoing feud in the Yadav family, Samajwadi Party's Muslim leader Azam Khan on Monday said that he has always acted like a mediator between the feuding sides.

"This is about relations and I have always acted like a bridge although lots of hopes have been broken. If there is some fog then does that mean passenger would call off his journey, so similarly some fog is there but not complete darkness. I hope there will be a solution," he told ANI here.

On the ongoing tussle over the Cycle symbol, he said that it is now up to the Election Commission to decide on the issue.

"Now the ball is in Election Commission's Court and we will have to wait for its decision," he added.

The Election Commission will give its decision on who will get to ride the coveted bi-cycle into the arena of Uttar Pradesh assembly election 2017 and who will be on foot.

Azam asked the party leaders to refrain from making any statement and added that image of the party should not get tarnished.

Azam further said that the most worried of the all communities is Muslims and they sensed that bad days are about to come.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's camp claims that he has the support of 90 per cent of his party members, his father and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav is still holding water.

Party loyalist since early times, Khan can be Mulayam's master stroke in elections as he can be the Muslim face of the party, preserving the traditional vote bank of SP with Mulayam camp.

Azam also attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) by saying that if the saffron party is able to form government in Uttar Pradesh then secularism would be in danger.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav said Akhilesh Yadav will be next the Chief Minister after the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and claimed that the party is united. With Mulayam extending an olive branch to his "estranged" son, the move is being seen as an attempt to end SP feud.
