A United States federal bankruptcy judge has approved the settlement in the government's antitrust lawsuit against American Airlines and US Airways, which might see their merger getting finalized by December 9.
Judge Sean Lane ruled in New York that the settlement didn't upset American's bankruptcy-reorganisation plan, which was approved in September, News.com.au reports.
According to the report, the judge also rejected the appeal of a group of consumers for delaying the merger.
The merger will reportedly create the world's biggest airline.
