Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah has assigned the task of coordinating party work to seven Union Ministers in a bid to strengthen the outfit's position in the states not ruled by it.
According to reports, Shah has assigned Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman to coordinate party work in West Bengal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power Piyush Goyal shall coordinate the same in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Meanwhile, the coordination work in Kerala has been assigned to Minister of State for Skill Development Rajiv Pratap Rudy, in Assam will be taken care by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan, in Odisha will be under the charge of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture Dr Mahesh Sharma.
Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers Hansraj Ahir will coordinate the BJP's affairs in Telangana, while Union Health Minister J P Nadda will coordinate the work in work in Andhra Pradesh, where BJP shares power with its ally, the Telegu Desam Party.
