Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah met the Chief Ministers of his party-led states here on Sunday during which he discussed issues pertaining to the upcoming 'good governance day' celebrations, which would be held on former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birth anniversary on December 25.
"Today, Amit Shah held a meeting in which the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana and Goa, namely Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Anandiben Patel, Vasundhara Raje, M L Khattar and Laxmikant Parsekar participated. The main aim of this meeting was to celebrate Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birthday, which falls on December 25, as 'good governance day'. The meeting discussed how this day could be celebrated," BJP national media convener Shrikant Sharma told the media.
"In the meeting, the participants also discussed how to involve more people to take part in the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'," he added.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met the Chief Ministers today to discuss various aspects relating to restructuring of the Planning Commission. During the meet, the Prime Minister sought the views of the Chief Ministers regarding the structure, scope and role of the new body that will replace the Planning Commission.
