Renowned Indian author Amitav Ghosh has been included in the list of authors selected for the 2015 'Man Booker International Prize.'
The list, which was recently been announced by Professor Marina Warner, chair of judges, at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, included a total of 10 authors, who have never been previously selected, in the run to win the 60,000 pounds Man Booker International Prize, the BBC reported.
The Booker Prize, awarded every 2 years, has recognizes an author's continued creativity development and overall contribution to literature, and is awarded to the one who published fiction either originally in English or whose work has been translated into English.
The other authors in the list include Cesar Aira (Argentina), Hoda Barakat (Lebanon), Maryse Conde (Guadeloupe), Mia Couto (Mozambique), Fanny Howe (US), Ibrahim al-Koni (Libya), Laszlo Krasznahorkai (Hungary), Alain Mabanckou (Congo-Brazzaville ) and Marlene van Niekerk (South Africa).
Warner said that the judges had an exhilarating experience reading for the prize and had ranged across the world to enter the vision of writers who offered an extraordinary variety of experiences.
The winner would be announced on 19 May in London.
