South African opening batsman Hashim Amla said that senior players need to show more intend in order to deliver an all-round performance in the upcoming World Cup quarterfinal clash against Sri Lanka in Sydney on Wednesday.
Ahead of the crunch tie, Amla said that everybody in the team, especially the senior guys want to be the guys to make the big plays for them; with the bat, ball and in the field, Sport24 reported.
The right-handed batsman further said that they were well aware that they hadn't won a knockout game, insisting that it serves as good motivation for the guys to make it a first for South African cricket, and were raring to go.
Describing Sri Lankan team as wonderful, Amla said that the Angelo Mathews-led team seemed to be playing good cricket, admitting that they compete very well at World Cups.
