Eucador's ambassador to Britain, Ana Alban, has been recalled to Quito for failing to end WikiLeaks founder's asylum saga.
According to the Independent, Alban is to be replaced by an ambassador charged with ending the long running saga.
Assange, who founded the WikiLeaks, has been held up in the London embassy for nearly a year and Eucador is desperate to negotiate a way for Assange to quit it amicably.
According to the report, Alban will now take a senior role in the government of President Rafael Correa and will depart the Eucador embassy shortly.
Eucador Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Alban has made significant contribution to creating greater understanding in UK about Eucador's social policies.
He further said that Alban highlighted the importance, which Ecuador gives in protecting human rights and in defending the principles of the right to seek asylum from political persecution, the reports added.
