Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma will inaugurate the Fourth Asian Business Summit at the Hotel Taj Mansingh here on Wednesday.

Sharma will address the special plenary session at 11.30 a.m. at the Diwan-i-Am.

Driven by the fast growing vibrancy of Asian economies, the Asian Business Summit (ABS) was initiated three years back. So far, three annual summits have been organized, of which the first two summits, in 2010 and 2011, were held in Tokyo while the third Summit was held in Bangkok in 2012.

The summit brings together CEOs and representatives of 15 top industry chambers from 12 Asian countries, including China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan.

The event is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

A press conference on summit deliberations will be addressed by Vikram Kirloskar, Indian Speaker, Mr Hiromasa Yonekura, Japanese Speaker and Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII, at 5.15 p.m. in the Aftab Mahtab Hall of the hotel.
