Lauding corporate India for turning her state into a global business hub, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Wednesday acknowledged its contribution in enabling Gujarat to play a big role in India's growth story.
"Gujarat is not new to most of you now. Many of you have contributed to its growth story. I take this opportunity to acknowledge the trust that you have put on us over these years. With your support, Gujarat today accounts for more than 7.5 percent of India's GDP, 18 percent of India's fixed capital and 25 percent of India's exports. Gujarat is playing a big role in India's growth story," Patel said while speaking at the curtain-raiser of Vibrant Gujarat Summit here.
"Gujarat has emerged as global business hub, we are giving a considerable trust in social sectors, education, women empowerment and specialized areas like innovation and climate change," she added.
Patel also hailed the last six Vibrant Gujarat Summits and termed them to be resounding successes.
She also talked about the seventh edition of Vibrant Gujarat Summit to be held on January 11-13 next year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the seventh edition of Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which will be partnered by seven countries.
