The Indian Coast Guard on Friday evacuated as many as 50 people from a grounded ferry boat at Kamorta, Andaman and Nicobar islands.
According to the Indian Coast Guard, 50 people including 30 women and 16 children were evacuated on Friday. The ferry was grounded due to engine failure.
Taking to Twitter, Indian Coast Guard posted pictures of the rescue operation and said the operation was undertaken despite strong winds and high waves.
"Indian Coast Guard in a swift operation evacuated 50 personnel including 30 women & 16 children from a grounded ferry boat at Kamorta, A & N islands today. Ferry was grounded due to engine failure. The operation was undertaken despite strong winds and high waves," the Indian Coast Guard wrote in a tweet on Friday.
