Hours after the Supreme Court gave its verdict in the decades-old Ayodhya case on Saturday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the people to maintain peace.

"I appeal to all people to restrain from violence and cooperate in peacekeeping," Reddy tweeted.

In another tweet, Reddy appealed to all communities to not make any comments that would provoke or incite communalism regarding the verdict.

The Supreme Court in its judgment said the disputed land in Ayodhya will be given to a government-run trust to build a temple and five acres of suitable land will be given to Sunni Waqf Board for a mosque, ending a decade-long dispute over 2.77 acres of land in Ayodhya.
