Oscar winning director Ang Lee has added Vin Diesel and Chris Tucker to the A-list cast for his adaptation of the Ben Fountain novel 'Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.'
The TriStar project, which already stars newcomer Joe Alwyn, Steve Martin, Garrett Hedlund and Kristen Stewart, will be shot in native 3D and 4K, Deadline.com reported.
The story focuses on 19-year-old private Billy Lynn and his company who survive a harrowing Iraq battle that is captured by news cameras. They are brought home by the U.S. administration for a promotional tour, culminating in the spectacular halftime show of a Thanksgiving Day football game. Unbeknownst to all, there is turmoil as the group faces an imminent return to the war.
Lee along with Marc Platt, Ink Factory's Stephen Cornwell, Rhodri Thomas and Simon Cornwell will produce the film, which is a partnership between TriStar, Studio 8, Bona Film Group and Film4.
The filming will begin this month.
