Angelina Jolie travelled with her daughter Shiloh Jolie Pitt to Turkey on June 20 to spread awareness about the world refugees.
The 40-year-old actress, who serves as a special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), visited the Syrian and Iraqi refugee camps in Mardin province where she also met Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reported the People Magazine.
Commenting on the crisis, the 'Maleficent' star said that the world has never been richer or healthier or more advanced, yet never before have so many people been dispossessed and stripped of their basic human rights.
Jolie added that they should call this a crisis of global security and governance.
The actress, who has six children with Brad Pitt, brought her nine-year-old daughter first to Lebanon to spend time with a 12-year-old Syrian girl whom she had met during her earlier trip to UNHCR.
The mother-daughter duo also spent time with the little girl named Hala, who has no parents and lives with her five siblings in a tented settlement.
