The annoyed retired police officer who allegedly shot at a couple who was sending text messages during a screening in a Florida theatre, apparently was sending a text himself before the incident.
Curtis Reeves, 71, shot at Chad Oulson, 43 and his wife Nicole, killing Chad on the spot and injuring Nicole, during the screening of 'Lone Survivor.'
According to Mashable, it has been found that Reeves sent a text to his son, Matthew, just before firing the shot.
Matthew was supposed to meet his parents at the theater, but was late, because he had decided to wash his truck beforehand and moments after he arrived, he heard a gunshot.
The report said that Reeves is on trial for second-degree murder as well as aggravated battery, and would serve a minimum of 25 years in prison if convicted.
However, Reeves is pleading self-defense for now, saying that Oulson assaulted him before he fired his weapon, the report added.
