The annual report of the Australia-India Institute-Australia India Youth Dialogue Partnership was launched at the Australian High Commission here last evening in the presence of Australian High Commissioner Patrick Suckling and Australia-India Institute (AII) Director Professor Amitabh Mattoo.
The event was held in the Murray Harris Room of the Australian High Commission.
Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Suckling highlighted the various aspects of progress being made in bilateral relations between Australia and India, and stressed on the need for youth in both countries to interact more and assume leadership roles that would take the country-to country linkages to a higher level.
The Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD) provides a formal dialogue between the youth of Australia and India. The AIYD is a sustainable platform for young leaders to come together, to discuss issues within the bilateral relationship and to foster strong partnerships between both countries
The Australia India Institute is Australia's leading centre for the study of India and was established with support from the Australian Government. Through its teaching, research, public policy and outreach programs, it is building Australia's capacity to understand India.
The AII is a hub for dialogue, research and partnerships between India and Australia.
Based at the University of Melbourne, Australia's top-ranked university, the institute hosts a growing range of programs that are deepening and enriching the bilateral relationship.
