The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday alleged that the BJP-led NDA Government's handling of the situation post Rohith Vemula's suicide reveals the anti-Dalit mindset of the ruling dispensation and said that an independent inquiry should have been ordered so that all the conspirators are exposed.
AAP leader Ashutosh said the Centre must ensure safety of the Dalits.
"The way this Modi Government is acting; it clearly indicates that it is anti-Dalit. The AAP stands in solidarity with the Dalits and backward," said Ashutosh.
"One has to take a stand when the ruling government is not doing justice to the backward and that is why we stand behind the backward and demand their safety," he added.
The AAP leader further accused the BJP government of politicising the issue.
"They should have ordered for an independent enquiry to probe the matter," he added.
