Apple and Google are vying for game companies to gain exclusivity on imminent potent titles.

According to the Verge, publishers like Electronic Arts, Gameloft and Zeptolabs are offered prominent placement on the App Store and Google Play for exclusive content. Neither company offers money or direct financial incentives to sway developers, but they don't really need to; a spot on the landing page of either app store can lead to an enormous sales boost for any game.

It further revealed that it was the same scenario when Apple and EA had agreed on a brief period of exclusive window over the Plants vs Zombies 2 game.

However, some certain game developers haven't given in to the offers by Apple, labeling it as 'enticing'.

Apple's want for exclusivity has had an impact on the App Store Editorial process that earlier did not take into account any pre-considerations before selecting apps and games that are indicted to Ipad and Iphone.

Android's growing influence has also resulted in other companies such as Amazon to procure 'exclusive' applications upon its system software and most likely, its future smart phone.
