iPhone maker, Apple has reportedly announced HomeKit functionality for iOS 8, which lets users manage their home automation devices.
The HomeKit lets users manage their home automation devices, so that one can lock doors, dim lights, and adjust their thermostat from their iPhone or iPad.
According to CNET, on Monday the company announced that it has added functionality in its upcoming release of iOS 8, through the HomeKit software platform, to integrate control for door locking, light dimming, and other home automation gadgets and features to iOS devices.
Apple's senior vice president of software engineering, Craig Federighi said that Apple is offering a way to make it easier for app developers to integrate their apps' functionality with iOS devices.
