Finally! Kangana Ranaut has spoken about the controversy over the writing credits of her upcoming movie 'Simran'.

When asked about the controversy, Kangana, who was present at the trailer launch of the movie 'Simran' dismissed actual writer Apurva Asrani's claims that she's been unduly credited for 'additional story, screenplay and dialogue'.

She said, "First of all I want to make it clear that there are no dues pending. Somehow people make it look like Apurva has not been given his credit that is not true. We made the contract exactly the way he wanted it to be, in fact, Apurva is the one who suggested me to take additional credit for dialogue writing. So we made the contract that way."

The actress also shared that after 'Rangoon' failed, some people attacked her and he decided to write the note and said what he wanted to say which I found in very bad taste.

The controversy got into the limelight after the poster of the film released showing Kangana's name as co-writer.

Apurva took to Facebook to raise objection to it and slammed the actress for taking undue credit.

The 'Queen' star also noted that she had made her stand on nepotism very clear in her open letter and does not feel the need to say anything else on the topic now.

She said, "I've written about it. I've said everything on that matter in the letter. It is pretty much that."

The debate first started at Johar's celebrity chat show where Kangana called the filmmaker "flag bearer of nepotism." At an award function, Varun Dhawan along with hosts for the event Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan mocked Kangana in the wake of the nepotism controversy.

The trio were criticised on social media for the joke made at the expense of the actress and had to eventually apologise for the same.

Helmed by Hansal Mehta, ' Simran' is slated to release on September 15.
