Archaeologists have virtually recreated a Roman gladiator school discovered on the banks of the River Danube in Austria.

According to the archaeologists, the gladiator school was on a scale to rival Rome's The Great Gladiatorial Training School, and was complete with individual cells for the gladiators and a circular training arena, the BBC reported.

During excavations in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, elements of the ancient settlement, including a legionary fortress and the civilian town were revealed, but the gladiator school was detected only in 2011, in an area to the south of the town.
