An Argentinean environmentalist has married a tree to show his love for the flora.

Richard Torres tied the knot while dressed in a white suit and blue hat in a wedding ceremony in Buenos Aries, Metro.co.uk reported

The activist, who invited his guests to perform readings at the ceremony in one of the city's main parks, read his vows out loud before he kissed the tree several times to make his marriage official.

He said that the unusual wedding was staged to highlight environmental issues and that he now plans to bring his unique style of activism to countries throughout Latin America.
