Indian Army imparted training to unemployed Kashmiri youth to be recruited as soldiers with an aim of serving the nation.

A regiment of the Indian army conducted free training camp in Poonch area of Jammu region and later recruited the youth to join hands in safe guarding the borders.

Youth in border areas of Kashmir often bear the brunt of underdevelopment in the region and militancy, forcing them into unemployment.

Trainer of the budding soldiers said that they would continue to do the good work.

"We will continue to provide training to the youth in different areas of Poonch sector and they can serve the nation along with their earnings by getting into the army," said instructor Mohinder Pal on Tuesday.

The Kashmir region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades.

Militants have been frequently attacking security bases in Kashmir since the 1990s, when there was a full-blown insurgency against Indian rule in a region.
