Continuing with their relief and rescue operations, the Indian army rescued some medical students from flood affected areas in Srinagar.
Thanking the army for rescuing them, a medical student said, "We are safe and happy, and we thank the army, our director and all those who have helped in our rescue."
So far, over 1,42,000 persons have been rescued by the armed forces and NDRF from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the flood ravaged state.
22 urban search and rescue teams of NDRF comprising of more than 1000 rescuers and 150 boats and other life saving equipments are working relentlessly in adverse conditions to provide immediate relief to flood victims.
However, relief and rescue operations in Srinagar have been halted today due to rains.
