An infiltration attempt by three to four militants was successfully thwarted by the Army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

The army detected movement of a group of militants on Saturday at the Krishna Ghati area, resulting in firing on both sides.

During this gun battle, two infiltrators were gunned down. However, their bodies could not be recovered due to the surrounding mine fields which are under the surveillance of Pakistan.

A distressed resident shared his agony about repeated firing on both sides.

"Pakistan is repeatedly doing this. Yesterday a flag meeting was held by the Army officials from both countries in Chakan- da- bagh. What they have done even after this, is wrong. We are fed up with their repeated infiltration attempts. There is no peace from militancy, only tension. We request that the situation be taken seriously," Mohammed Azam, said.

This infiltration attempt comes a day after both India and Pakistan had a flag ship meeting.
