Arsenal extends Premier League lead with 2-0 win over Liverpool

Arsenal has established a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League following their 2-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal, which started the game in pole position, gained a place at the top the Premier League standings following Chelsea's defeat by Newcastle United and Southampton's draw with Stoke City.

According to the Mirror, despite the absence of Jack Wilshere due to a an ankle injury and the lack of wingers, Arsene Wenger's side erased any doubts about their form, which were raised after their home defeats by Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, with a fine first-half strike by Santi Cazorla in the 19th minute.

Brendan Rodgers' side, which was on a high after an excellent start to the season, was further disappointed after Aaron Ramsey scored his 10th goal of this campaign with a spectacular long-range effort on the hour.
