Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that defender Laurent Koscielny is set to be sidelined for at least six months after rupturing an achilles during a Europa League clash.
The 32-year-old sustained the injury at the start of his club's second leg of the Europa League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid, which the latter went on to win by 1-0.
Reflecting on the same, Wenger revealed that Koscielny is quite disappointed with the injury as he has to undergo surgery which will not allow him to play before December.
"He is devastated because he has surgery that means six months out. You will not see him again before December certainly," goal.com quoted Wenger, as saying.
Meanwhile, Koscielny's football federation also confirmed that the defender would not feature for Russia in the FIFA World Cup.
The injury has brought a sad end to Koscielny's international career as he had planned to bid adieu to his international career after the finals in Russia.
