Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal on Friday said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley should watch his language and scrutinize his own party before speaking about Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
"The double speak of the BJP is something we need to admire, because they get away with it. Because they are loud, but Mr. Jaitley must watch his language and take a look at his own party before speaking of Dr. Singh," said Sibal.
"BJP embraced Yeddyurappa who is another name for corruption and this very party talk about corruption and attacks the PM saying that he is soft on corruption," he said.
"We are the ones who were committed to pass the Lokpal bill. Why didn't Narendra Modi form a Lokpal in Gujarat for 11 long years?" he asked.
In his third ever address to the media during his 10 years as Prime Minister, Dr. Singh said that if BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi ever becomes the PM, it would be a disaster for the country.
At the same time, he also indicated that he was not in the running for a third term as Prime Minister, but did not comment on whether Rahul Gandhi would be the prime ministerial candidate for the Congress or not.
He also said that he had promoted good governance and that he hoped history would be kind to him on his term a as prime minister of the country.
