In a successful attempt, the army on Sunday neutralised two National Socialist Council of Nagaland [NSC (N)] terrorists, which had attacked the troops in the morning in which two Assam Rifle Jawans were killed.

It has to be noted that these terrorists have no consideration for the innocent citizens of the region because it is suspected that their primary aim was to cause attrition and disrupt the Pangsau Pass Festival held once in four years which had its last day today.

It was during this time that their contact was established with the troops, who were deployed on the road to provide security to the large number of attendees moving on the road and their evil designs were prevented from getting executed.

There was a heavy exchange of gunfire between the two groups and multiple grenades were also blasted by (NSCN-K) early in the morning.

A Toyota Fortuner bearing no. AS06L 0033 was damaged in the blast.

However, none of the passengers were injured.
