The appointments committee of the cabinet (ACC), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has named AS Kiran Kumar as the new chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Kumar, who was the erstwhile Space Application Centre (SAC) director, will take over from officiating chairman Shailesh Nayak, who had been made the interim chief after K Radhakrishnan on the Mangalyaan fame had retired last month.
