Ashley Judd will press charges if you harass her, be it on Twitter.
The 46-year-old 'Divergent' star told the 'Today show' that it was "absolutely extraordinary" the amount of gender violence she had to face and she would send a major part of her day to file police reports at home about gender violence directed towards her on social media, the Verge reported.
Judd took charge after her tweet about a basketball game caused rude cyberbullying, and tweeted "When I express a stout opinion during March Madness I am called a whore, c---, threatened with sexual violence. Not okay."
A lot of celebrity figures including Zelda Williams and Iggy Azalea have left Twitter due to harassment.
Judd said that "Everyone needs to take personal responsibility for what they write," stressing on the need to fight back the shaming on Twitter.
Twitter has slowly begun to address the problem, with the company's CEO admitting to "suck at dealing with abuse" last month.
Twitter has since started tracking phone numbers to make it harder for banned users to sign up again, and they also rolled out an option that lets Twitter users receive an emailed report about any tweets they mark as a threat.
