Manchester United winger Ashley Young has reportedly been banned from driving for six months at a court hearing after he admitted to speeding.
Young, who already had nine points on his licence after being convicted of speeding last January, admitted driving in his Range Rover Vogue at 71mph on a 50mph section of the M6 Toll last March.
According to the Daily Express, Young was handed another four penalty points, making him liable for a ban under the rules on 'totting-up' points, fined 3,000 pounds for the offence and ordered to pay 405 pounds for costs and 120 pounds for victim surcharge.
However, Young's lawyer defended her client saying that at the time the footballer's car was clocked by a speed camera, the road was 'quiet' and also criticised the prosecution's application for 405 pounds-costs, claiming that Young was unfairly targeted because of his fame.
