In a shocking story that hit the world of athletics yesterday, sprinters Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell have both tested positive for banned substances, with Gay already having withdrawn himself from the IAAF World Championships.
According to the Mirror, the US Anti-Doping Agency told Gay last week that a sample taken out of the competition on May 16 had failed a drug test and his 'B' sample would be scrutinized this week.
The report said that Gay was in tears while revealing that he was not having a sabotage story and did not have any lies to make, adding that the trust he put in someone had been broken.
Meanwhile, Powell denied taking oxilofrine and professed his innocence over the positive test taken at last month's Jamaican national trials in Kingston, the report added.
