An unidentified man open fired on the car of Director and Vice- Chairman of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., K Nityananda Reddy, here on Wednesday morning.
"Today morning at 7.20 after completing walking in K.B.R. Park, Aurobindo Pharma MD Mr. Nityananda Reddy along with his brother came to the parking area where they had parked the car. When Mr. Nityananda Reddy got into the driver seat, the assailant got into the car from the other side at the front seat," Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mahinder Reddy told ANI here.
"He was carrying a bag in which there was AK-47. Then when the unidentified person entered the car, there was a scuffle. In the process, the weapon was taken out and all magazines went off. All the bullets went into the air, none is injured," he added.
The senior cop informed that the assailant, however, managed to escape leaving the weapon behind.
"So, we have definite clues in this. We are confident that we will be able to detect this case soon," he added.
