Australia will aim to clinch the three-match Chappell-Hadlee series when they take on New Zealand in the second ODI at the Manuka Oval here today.

Earlier, the Steve Smith-led side had snapped the five-match losing streak in ODIs by clinching a 68-run win in the opening match in Sydney to take a one-nil lead in the ongoing series.

Australia will be hoping to wrap up the series in Canberra in a bid to rest key players ahead of the upcoming Test series against Pakistan starting on December 15 at the Gabba.

Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc are likely to be rested for the final match in Melbourne if it is a dead rubber.

New Zealand, on the other hand, face a do-or-die situation as they have to win the second match in order to keep alive in the series.

Prior to this, the trans-Tasman rivals have played each other thrice since Australia's victory in the 2015 World Cup final at the MCG in March 2015, with New Zealand prevailing in the 2015-16 edition of the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy 2-1.
