Australian golfer Jason Day prevailed on the 23rd hole to reach the final of the World Golf Championships Match Play Championship at Dove Mountain in Arizona, beating Victor Dubuisson of France.
During the final round, Day was 3-up through 12 holes but Dubuisson put up a fantastic play to send the match to extra holes.
On the first extra hole, Dubuisson shot through the green, but Day attacked the flag and hit a greenside bunker, however, the Frenchman's recovery shot from behind a cactus put him in the ascendancy while Day faced an eight foot putt after hitting out of the bunker, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The remaining rounds were nothing short of roller coaster ride for the golfers, with Dubuisson striking two wonder shots during the championship final.
Meanwhile, as the game progressed, the telecast of the event was moved from a mainstream network to the Golf Channel.
