Ace Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her Croatian partner Ivan Dodig remained on course to clinch their maiden Australian Open title after they marched into the finals of the mixed doubles event here on Friday.
After winning the first set, the second-seeded Indo-Croatian pair went down in the second before rebounding strongly in the tie-breaker to register a 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 win over the Australian duo of Samantha Stosur and Sam Groth in a last-four contest that lasted an hour and 18 minutes on Margaret Court Arena.
Mirza and Dodig will now take on either Ukranian-Australian pair of Elina Svitolina and Chris Guccione or American-Colombian team of Abigail Spears and Juan Sebastian Cabal for a place in summit showdown.
Earlier, Sania and Dodig held their nerves as they saved two match points against India's Rohan Bopanna and Canada's Gabriela Dabrowski to clinch a 6-4, 3-6, 12-10 win in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Spanish maestro Rafael Nadal will also aim to book his place in the finals of men's singles clash when he takes on Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in last-four clash later today.
