The Shiv Sena on Wednesday re-iterated their demand for the resignation of Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan, saying that by taking the Dadri lynching case to the United Nations he had betrayed the nation and added that India was a safe haven for all Muslims.
"Among all Islamic nations, India is the safest place for Muslims and this is a fact acknowledged by all. Muslims are getting respect here and they are living in a good condition compared to other nations, no matter what Azam Khan is saying," Sena MP Sanjay Raut told ANI here.
The Shiv Sena leader further said that Azam Khan needs to slapped with charges of sedition and asserted that if he indeed is heading to the UN for, this it was 'distasteful' on his part.
The Sena mouthpiece Saamna in their editorial today had demanded Khan's resignation to which the latter responded by saying that he would not stop till justice was delivered in the Dadri case.
