After putting up a mammoth score of 557-8 with the help of Azhar Ali's double ton on Thursday, Pakistan had Bangladesh on the mat at 107-5 at stumps on the second day of the second Test being played here.
Resuming at 323-3, Pakistan lost skipper Misbah-ul-Haq early. However, Asad Shafiq joined Azhar Ali at the crease and the duo batted sensibly to share a 227-run stand. In the process, Ali registered his maiden Test double hundred, while Shafiq recorded his sixth Test hundred.
In search of quick runs, Pakistan lost some quick wickets before Misbah declared the Pakistan first innings at tea.
Bangladesh failed to get off to a good start, losing the wicket of Tamim Iqbal with only four runs on board.
Bangladesh still need 251 more runs to avoid a follow on.
Yasir Shah is already looking dangerous on this pitch and the fast bowlers too are getting some help from the surface.
