Reiterating his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mission of achieving a 'Clean India', yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Friday exhorted citizens of the country to contribute in their own way to make India cleaner.
"Since his (Narendra Modi) becoming Prime Minister, I had a long conversation with him. When he had sought co-operation from Bharat Swabhimaan, we had said that along with a healthy India, we will also be a part of clean India. When the nation celebrates the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019, we will leave no stones unturned to accomplish that goal," Baba Ramdev told ANI here.
"We would take this campaign together and this will be taken from small to larger places. We want to change this image of India. And after returning from the Europe tour, I will myself contribute to this programme. I request to the people of this country that India is a pure country, and hence, everybody should contribute in their own way in making this country clean," he added.
The yoga guru stated that since he will not be present on October 2 when the Clean India mission is launched as he will be away from home on a trip to Europe, he assured of his organization's full support and participation.
On Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary which falls on October 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mission Clean India will be launched which aims for a cleaner India by 2019, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary.
On a recent visit to Bangalore Prime Minister Modi asked the countrymen to make the country clean and sought a commitment from them for 100 days a year or two hours a week to clean India.
