Late American baseball legend Babe Ruth's original contract with the New York Yankees has reportedly gone up for sale for 1.45 million dollars.
The sale is being offered by antique documents dealer 'Moments in Time'.
According to the contract, Ruth earned 8,666.66 dollars per month, or 52,000 dollars per season, from 1922 to 1924, but had to put down a 30-dollar deposit each year for 'two complete uniforms, exclusive of shoes'.
According to the New York Post, among the numerous perks of the contract, 'pullman accommodation and meals en route' while on the road was included, although the contract demanded that Ruth 'refrain entirely from the use of all intoxicating liquors' and that he 'did not stay up later than 1 a.m.' without permission.
The report mentioned that the slugger also made 3,500 dollars in his first year with Boston Red Sox, and the contract is also being offered by the documents dealer for 1.25 million dollars.
