Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here today and requested him to do his best to bring back Indians stranded in Iraq.
"I have requested Rajnath Singh to do his best to bring back our people stranded in Iraq, and we know they are doing their best," said Badal.
"Any steps that can be taken, so that the Indians stranded in Iraq are released should be taken immediately," he added.
After meeting Singh, Badal will be meeting External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on the issue.
Earlier today, a few of those who had returned from Iraq spoke about their horrible experiences and the worsening situation in that country.
Swaraj has promised to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safe return of the abducted Indians.
