Iraqi capital of Baghdad has topped the list of cities that are at most risk of terror attacks, according to a research compiled by global risk analytics company.
An analysis of the terror risk to 1,300 commercial hubs and urban centres worldwide by Verisk Maplecroft, showed that the Islamic State (IS) stronghold of Mosul in Iraq occupied the second spot, followed by Al Ramadi, Ba'qubah, Kirkuk, reported The Independent.
Pakistan's Peshawar occupied 7th spot on the list, followed by Quetta and Hassu Khel at the 9th and 10th positions respectively.
The firm based its analysis on the number of terror attacks that took place in these cities in the 12 months up to March 2015, and combined that with the longer-term record of attacks in the previous five years.
Verisk advises banks and insurers on the threat of a terror attack in almost any urban setting around the world.
