Marcos Baghdatis advanced to the third round of the Aegon Open Nottingham after defeating top seed David Ferrer in straight sets on Tuesday.
The Cypriot fired nine aces and won 73 per cent of his service points to overcome Ferrer in an enthralling contest that lasted one hour and 30 minutes.
World number seven Ferrer was playing his first grass-court match of the season as he returned to Nottingham for the first time in 11 years.
