The film's Hindi version has become the first Indian film to hit the Rs 500 crore mark domestically and according to Karan Johar, who is the presenter of the Hindi version, it is the 'hugest milestone'.
The 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' director took to Twitter to announce the news and wrote, "The HUGEST MILESTONE in the HINDI language #BB2StormAt500cr...@ssrajamouli @Shobu_ #prasad ...HISTORIC and beyond...."
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh gave a film and collection-wise break-up of the box office.
