Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale still has to rely on others to translate Spanish even nine months after moving to the La Liga club.
The Welsh international had started lessons more than a year ago before he moved to the Spanish club, but he still has to rely on multi-lingual colleagues to tell him what is going on.
According to the Daily Star, Bale's former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Luka Modric, who plays as midfielder for Real, translates Spanish instructions for the winger into English, while the Welshman also leans on English-born coach Paul Clement for help.
Bale said that everything at Real is in Spanish, and at the start he used to speak to Clement after the practice got over, as the assistant coach knew about the team talk before the manager, Carlo Ancelotti, made it.
The winger added that if he does not understand something he goes and speaks to Clement or Modric or one of the squad members who speak both languages.
Bale said that hopefully in the not-too-distant future he would be able to understand the Spanish lingo fully.
