Baloch nationalist leader Khair Baksh Marri passed away in Karachi, Pakistan late last night after a prolonged illness.
He was the leader of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
He played a prominent part in the 1970's Baloch insurgency and was considered an icon by some in Baloch politics.
He was 86 years old and was being treated at Liaquat National Hospital's intensive care unit where he was in a state of unconsciousness from past few days.
Marri returned to Pakistan after the fall of the left-wing government in Kabul after being in exile there for several years.
