AC Milan star Mario Balotelli had reportedly opted to catch some extra sleep instead of attending a Italian government meeting despite often speaking of his desire to be involved in politics after his footballing career.
Balotelli had expressed an interest in making a difference for his native Italy, following which Italian Minister for Integration Cecile Kyenge invited him for an important meeting on racism this week.
However, Metro.co.uk reports that Kyenge said that Balotelli did not want to come to the meeting because he preferred to sleep, and quipped that the government must respect Balotelli's transparency.
Although the meeting was not compulsory and other members of the Italian national football team were also invited, but Kyenge said that he was keen to hear the views of the former Manchester City star's no-nonsense views.
