A Bangalore civil court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Union Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda's son Karthik, who has been accused by a Kannada actress of rape and cheating.
The court had earlier on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Karthik.
However, he had not responded to the notice issued by the police and was, therefore, declared an absconder.
Karthik had earlier moved the city sessions court for anticipatory bail in the case and the court had adjourned the case for further hearing to September 4.
The Kannada actress had claimed that she had married Karthik on June 5 after meeting him on May 8.
While Karthik got engaged to another woman in Kushalnagar, Kodagu, his father Sadananda Gowda rejected the allegations against his son alleging a conspiracy.

Gowda said that he was shocked to see the report and added that his personal and public life was an open book.
He had also said that it seemed suspicious that the woman had filed the complaint hours after his son Karthik's engagement.
