Expressing her condolence on the bomb blasts in Bangkok, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that it was a tragic loss and added that India stands with Thailand during this difficult time.
"I wish to convey on behalf of the government and the people of India our heartfelt and sincere condolences at the tragic loss of innocent lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Thailand, particularly with those who are affected by this inhuman act," she said in her letter written to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
Asserting that India has consistently condemned terrorism in the strongest terms, Swaraj said New Delhi expresses its solidarity with the government and people of Thailand in their fight against terrorism.
"We are ready to assist our authorities in any way possible to deal with this unfortunate situation," she said.
A bomb explosion killed 22 people and left 140 injured in Bangkok's central Chidlom district yesterday evening.
The attack targeted a major tourist attraction, the Erawan Hindu shrine.
